
Laura Urstein as "Darlene"
Laura Urstein (who also goes by her married name, Laura Lanoil, b. January 8, 1961) is an actress known for a diverse career spanning film, TV, stage, and short films, with a focus on character roles in both mainstream and independent projects.
In film, she is recognized for roles in John Hughes's Sixteen Candles (1986), Robert Altman's O.C. and Stiggs (1985), Once Bitten (1985), and Back to the Beach (1987) as well as TV shows like Cagney & Lacey and Hello, Larry (1980), with recurring roles in TV series such as Not Necessarily the News, Fridays, The Young and the Restless, and Dinosaurs. She has also appeared in the short film Late Great Mom (2019) and contributed as a writer.
She has performed in numerous stage productions, including I Do, Do You, The Project, The Diviners, The Phantom, Jewtopia, Madaline, 42 Seconds From Broadway, The Taming of the Shrew, Brigadoon, and Once Upon a Mattress.
She trained with acting coach Dick Schaal, and is a Reiki Master. Her vocal range is described as mezzo-soprano and soprano, with a legit style.
